Integrity before greed is a good mantra and I totally respect what you have done and can rely on your considered opinion in the future. However, your reply confirms the existence of a conflict that is fundamental to the business. I know you will handle that with the utmost respect and your subscribers should know that if they don't already. But everybody should realize that you are first with respect to your assets as each of us are as well, which is the essence of the conflict.
