I think one of Turkey's demands is that they keep a large portion of northern Iraq, including oil centers.

I haven't heard that one.

I do remember a Saffire column suggesting something like it, but it was a speculative piece about what Richard Nixon would do in Iraq (I believe Saffire felt Nixon would have invited the Turks to take the oil fields).

Do you have a source or a link on the Turkish demand for the oil centers?
