<< IMO a lot of people here like the Iraqi government better than the American. >>

And yet, Saddam is the most hated person in Iraq.

If members of the Iraqi military could really believe that America was coming to save their country, I'll bet you that the military and the Iraqi people would rise up against Saddam, with America's help.

Unfortunately, Iraqis remember when Bush Senior told the Kurds and the Shiite Muslims to rise up against Saddam, implying that American forces would back them up. They did rise up against Saddam. Bush refused to allow American forces to protect the Kurds and Shiites. Tens of thousands of Kurds and Shiites were slaughtered while American planes stayed on the runway.

Bush Senior said that, protecting tens of thousands of Kurds and Shiites, from a certain death, wasn't in the coalition agreement.

With double talk like that, I have to wonder if the Iraq people will, once again, stick their necks out to overthrow Saddam, hoping for America's help?
