That was really sickening. Message 18598267 You point out how the bombers are careful not to drop any on the place of worship itself...yet by the end of the filming that too is attacked. At many points in it there are individuals running for their lives and they are systematically incinerated in slurry of massive firebombs like a pig shoot. Had this been a video been, instead, one showing a US church being bombed, I guess then we would be really outraged at seeing people running to & from their cars & church in the panic of being slaughtered. That stampede in the recent news that killed 21 in that nightclub should give you a clue. When shit happens, people run from it. We have no way of knowing whom those people really were those bombs targeted, though you accepted and assumed they were “the enemy” as you put it. Surgical war my ass. I was serious in my last post, though I cartooned it, Message 18596602 ) about how unnecessary it is use the US arsenal Weaps of MD on Iraq. We already have Saddam by the balls, we do not need to blow up an Iraqi nation when all we need to do is squeeze. Inspectors are in, forces at borders gathering, fly-overs taking place, most or the world wants him out of power. We are in the door and we could now --and I mean WE as in the global community-- charge Saddam Hussein with war crimes . We may even get support from within Iraq as to where he is, and smoke him out. Our troops guard the oil, the innocent’s and all else while we stand in Saddam’s front yard until he surrenders. And with the support of the worlds people and the Iraqi’s themselves—including his shaky military-- Saddam will either kill himself or step into the light. Should he try an aggressive response, we then pounce on each hot-spot. Don’t you think it’s about time we-- the American WE-- show the world just how JUST and honorable we are as a nation? —show some true integrity?, diplomacy?, dignity?—as we flaunt & wield our superior might around from country to country? WE are part of a global community whether we like it or not. WE can embrace that or shun it. If we continue to push nations away, we are only going to end up alienating ourselves from the rest of the world. Without them, we will be nothing but the big bullies & hypocrites many already see us as, but together we can be empowered as a Global Community—and THAT is where the real strength is, THAT, IMHO, is how we suppress or prevent atrocities, create healing --for us, our children and great great grandchildren, Puna
