France telecom......

Well we've been waiting for ADSL service for quite some time. And every time I ask they tell me there is no service in our area and they have no idea when they'll get around to setting it up.

Then around the beginning of the year, one of the neighbors that works for France telecom told me that our little community now has ADSL service. Great! So I went down to France Telecom, told them I wanted the ADSL service. They checked my phone number, said no service, no idea when it'll be available in your area.

So a couple days later, I'm talking to the friend from France Telecom, and he says WE HAVE SERVICE here. So next day I go back. Considering we've had considerable trouble just with phone service, I went armed with my next door neighbors phone number. Told them I wanted ADSL service, gave them the neighbors phone number, they said no problem. I said OK, well that's not my phone number, here's mine..... Sorry the guy says, no service.......

WHAT? NO SERVICE? THE PHONE LINES FOR THOSE 2 NUMBERS ARE ON THE SAME FREEKIN POLE....

So after 2 hours we finally got to the truth of the matter and in fact I could have ADSL service. Great, about 1/3 of the cost of the ISDN setup I had before AND it was the last day of their promotion, free modem if you sign up for ADSL.
