I don't care about how difficult it is to set up a democracy in a nation that has known none. I'm not impressed with your views that America has survived by strokes of luck. And I'm not falling for your strawman regarding "instant democracies" at the drop of a bomb. Then how do I get you to you fall for what I am saying? Do I have to offer you money like we're offering Turkey so they'll go along with Mr. Bush's dirty little war?The underlying point is that every people group out there is ready for a democracy? Why? Because the foundation of a democracy are the self-evident, natural rights of every human being. That includes life, liberty, and apple pie (or kimchee, or cous-cous, or whatever). That includes the social contract, where the government belongs to the people, not the other way around. That includes individual choices and responsibilities. Sorry, big guy, its not natural to be democratic......if it were, this world would have had democracies from the time man first went upright. Democracy takes a lot of evolution....and then some hard work and practice.I repeat: Every single human being out there is ready for a democracy. Really? Did you learn all about that in engineering school?Even if that means they willingly place all responsibility in a single ruler or monarchy or whatever. Even if that means a form of government that doesn't resemble anything American or Western for that matter. Oh now it comes out......you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about but you call me arrogant! You just want what you want......like your president! You kind of think that everyone's ready for democracy.....well, sort of.......actually any ole gov't will do. What exactly is acceptable to you....the Iraqis are waiting with bated breathe? Like every other conservative on this thread, you just want them to do what you want. Daddy/the Godfather/big brother knows what's best for the little Iraqi people! Well, I've got knews for you........Saddam thinks he knows what's best for his people too! That's why he's called a despot! Whatever it is, it's going to be better than the hell that is Iraq. Or North Korea. Or any other repressive regime that you support. Fukk you........I never said once I support a repressive regime you little %^&*&! And oh yeah.........this world has seen much worse than Saddam and it will see much worse again. So when you pretend that you know more than everyone else here, and then you pretend that Iraqis aren't ready for a democracy, then you deserve to be called "arrogant." Because the fact is that you are doing EXACTLY what you accuse me of, and that is speaking as if you already asked the Iraqis what they want. And that is arrogant. Sucker, let me make this perfectly clear to you.......I know a hell of lot more about democracy than you do. Just reading your post would make that very apparent. Frankly, I don't tell you how to make chips, so please don't tell me what I know and don't know about human forms of gov't. ted
