Very un-true. Go to DELL's site,click on support,chose your operating system and computer model and site will give you any or all drivers relevant to your system. You don't have to be registered nor do you have to enter a service tag number. The benefit of entering a tag number though is that the site will respond with only those drivers for your specific system. I just did a fresh install of Win xp on a Dimension 8200 and all the drivers I needed were easily accessed online.
