You make a great point, and I agree with it for the most part. I want to agree with it completely. I could do just fine in a station wagon because all the car is doing is taking us from one place to another. That would work excellently in context of a society whose members consistently drive with civility. But in today's society, people use cars to compensate for weakness, and that means my wife and kids are in grave danger whenever they hit the road. So, it seems to me the prudent thing to do is give them bigger and better guns than the next guy. When they start making Mack trucks that have high utility for a family, then I will buy Mack trucks.
