Turkey is a secular country with an honest to goodness constitution. Turkey is at a cusp, right now, and in order to fullfill the destiny of Ataturk, they must become very high bandwidth. Extortion is not being High Bandwidth, extortion is a negative state that yields short term results but sacrifices future viability. All eyes of the world are watching and any suggestion that extortion is an appropriate tactic fails in understanding the regions evolution.

Failing this Turkey fails a destiny it should fight desperately to hold on too.

We have recently sent through NATO Patriot batteries to Turkey, as well as other advanced technologies with military and civilian use.

Turkeys greatest risk is too fail in its current mission and backslide into the morass of ME politics. If you fail to understand Turkeys privlidge as a NATO member you fail to understand the future. Valuing the present in the context of Who they are must be elevated within their political process. If the current leadership fails in this regard, they will have failed Turkey.
