Maybe a better analogy to Pearl Harbor would be Al Qaeda's attack on the USS Cole?

Has either of you thought of having a cerebrum installed?

"foreign military base", my a$$. Hawaii was a TERRITORY of the UNITED STATES. You know what that means? That means that at some point it would very likely become a state. Which it did.

But in any case, a territory IS regarded as part of the national territory of the United States. It is NOT a foreign country. The attack on Hawaii was universally regarded as an attack on the United States. Why do you think the US declared war as a result?

Sometimes I think an SI ignorance contest would result in a 3-way tie between you, Thomas M, and Ray wherever-he-is Duray.
