France and Germany wanted to meet and come to a consensus with Bush, but instead Bush sent Blair and Rumsfield in to do the job and they failed...

Oh, everybody (non-Republican) knows that Bush isn't a particularly bright guy... Blair and Rumsfeld were better-equipped to do the job and failed. The French and Germans wouldn't have given in if Bush had spoken to them directly, IMO.

And the reason they failed is that the instructions from Bush were:..............its my way or the highway!

Z, <Oh, everybody (non-Republican) knows that Bush isn't a particularly bright guy... Blair and Rumsfeld were better-equipped to do the job and failed.>

The Bush administration could definitely be faulted for being simple-minded, but there's real strength in being goal-oriented and making those goals clear from the get-go. For better or for worse, you'll get results.
