Why was Israel hit do you think? Because of the Gulf War - Iraq would never attack Israel in isolation - because Israel (note well) has a reputed 200-300 nuclear weapons and God knows how many other WMD) and it would wipe Iraq off the face of the earth. But the propaganda flows one way - no one mentions Israel's WMDs - and this is particularly true now when America's Middle East policy is driven by Israel's wishes and the pro-Israel hawks in the Administration who have been planning this thing and writing papers on it since around 1996. So the dollar's problems are twofold it seems - one the fear of an expensive war if it comes and the (unbudgeted effect on the swelling deficit - $300 billion and counting?) and two, the disarray of the Bushites if their wishamd thirst for war is unfulfilled. Even Time Magazine's cover talks about the anxiery of Americans alongside 'Bush's march to war' It's Children's Hour in Washington just now and we're only part way through Bush's term and the Dems. are chickens too - not chickenhawks like Bush and his fellow military service evaders - but chickens in daring to take on the so called 'War President' in his Hollywood battle garb.
