LB,
China and Japan much different. China in many ways has adopted capitalism. The Japanese tried to round off capitalisms rough edges. Chinese let chips fall where they may. They have learned from Russia on how not to lose political control and they have learned from Japan not to interfere with free market. They are political commies, but in economics they follow Adam Smith probably more than we do. It is an interesting experiment. Hopefully they will see that political freedom enhances capitalism as well. MIke
