It's clear that you've decided something called "the left" is the great boggy political actor of the moment. Hard to talk with you about that. Easier to talk about specific folk who make specific points. It's always a wonder to me, the regularity with which you profess yourself unable to recognize the left or right wings of the American political spectrum. Sort of like Alan Greenspan on the bubble, which apparently he was completely unable to recognize except in hindsight. -g-ng- p.s. Who is the oddball? Michael Walzer or the New York Times?
