Referring to 23 days as 2 million seconds is silly. Ninety plus percent of the Chinese are peasants with no buying power. The economists can't seem to look past its vast population to how little the average person in China has in his pockets by the way of moola. The only compelling reason to manufacture in China is cheap labor. Remove Clinton's "Most Favoured Trading Nation" status would hurt the Chinese, and to my mind they aren't deserving of that status. The US has never had a monopoly on modern weapons, and only had a monopoly on nuclear weapons from 1 November 1952 until 12 August 1953. That is, from the "Mike" H-bomb test in the Marshall Islands in the Pacific, to the first Soviet H-bomb test. An atomic bomb is a fission bomb, whereas a nuclear bomb is a combination of a fission bomb and a fusion bomb. If I may - you get a much bigger "bang for the buck" with an H-bomb. The US has never used nuclear weapons, only atomic weapons, which was twice in 1945 against Japan, which ended WW2. The United States is not "trigger happy". The Iraqi regime has been offered a free pass if Saddam steps down. He won't - so he'll be removed by force. I've forgotten how many UN resolutions he has flouted, and he is not deserving of any type of respect. The same offer to step down was offered to the Taliban in Afghanistan - they refused - so they were removed by force. While the British Empire no longer exists it was very successful and has left a tremendous legacy. Many countries have adopted its legal, democratic and government infrastructure systems, and the British Commonwealth remains well in tact. There is no "Law of Cycles". David
