Yah (except for your DDT comment... we are too close to the top of the food chain, and DDT accumulates up the food chain).

There are some economists who have argued that our entire commodity farming sector is unsustainable without cheap energy inputs... since we burn up more energy in producing the crops than we receive by consuming them.
