somebody on the G&K thread said this period reminds him of stagflation in the 70s... what do you think? I only remember the inflation.

People with my background generally believe that bad productivity in the US caused the economic woes of the period. Therefore, unless we get into a union-controlled, anti business, planned obsolescence type of business phase again, it can't happen. Thats fairly idealized thinking though, productivity is not the whole story, it was a lot of it though?

If interest rates rise from these levels ala the 70s, housing prices will collapse out here.
