Nadine,
Isnt it clear. America is the great satan, and israel the mini version. Poor Iraq only arms itself with these weapons to protect herself from the imperialists. After reading that article yes I am mad as in insane and mad as in mad as hell. mike

The Iraqis had come with placards reading "Freedom for Iraq" and "American rule, a hundred thousand times better than Takriti tyranny!"

But the tough guys who supervised the march would have none of that. Only official placards, manufactured in thousands and distributed among the "spontaneous" marchers, were allowed. These read "Bush and Blair, baby-killers," " Not in my name," "Freedom for Palestine" and "Indict Bush and Sharon."

Not one placard demanded that Saddam should disarm to avoid war.

The goons also confiscated photographs showing the tragedy of Halabja, the Kurdish town where Saddam's forces gassed 5,000 people to death in 1988.

The marches show that an enormous number of Westerners don't know their recent history - which has been a constant struggle for freedom - and instead are falling into unthinking utopianism.

The quote, above, is illustrative of the more unattractive aspect of the anti-war Iraq war movement. The organizors are basically anti-freedom, anti-democracy and fundamentally, anti-reason.

If there's another anti-war demo in my town I'll go with an anti-Saddam sign just to see what happens. Maybe a friend will come along with a video camera. Could be "fun".
