Enjoyed your post. Bribery in today's society will get your everywhere. Also fraud, deceit and lies. I would tell you a story about having lost over !.000.000 dollars to con men because I am trusting, gullible and where I was reared a handshake was a deal. No one bought anything that he or she could not afford.

How this world has changed. Someone said I should sit on the porch swing and watch the world go by. This was from one of the more insulting replies to me. Another said to stick my opinion up my __________ We have lovely people on this Board posting. Not too kind are we.. Anyway, don't want to fight the Civil War over again because I live in NC a great deal of the year.... and have studied the war which interested me very much. But I concur with your opinions of Mr. B...and at this juncture we have another war to contend with...

South has truly won the war

I don't believe there are any winners here. In the summer of '00, on the Porch, I railed against the choice of "dumb and dumber". A failure of the political duopoly. And likely to occur again. Some sort of third force is needed. In years when one of the major parties puts up a viable candidate, then this third force will serve as the swing vote. If neither major party has a viable candidate, then the third force can serve as a catalyst for a viable third choice.

Another alternative is to require a "None of the Above" option, which if it receives a plurality, forces another vote with different candidates. When you are forced to choose a candidate that isn't "up to the job", it's time to fix the system.

Bear in mind that 97% of the Turkish population is against the war (according to polls).
