In Henry Kissinger's memoirs, he stated that he had essentially the same peace deal arranged with Hanoi months before they agreed to sign the Paris treaty, but that they delayed, indicating to him their belief that the "peace" movement in the US strengthened their political position and weakened his (i.e., that of the American people), as time went on.

At this threat, Kissinger-for perhaps only time in his historic and heroic diplomatic career-blew his stack. He told them, in essence, that open discourse was both a source of strength and a national treasure of the United States, and that the idea of a bunch of communists, lacking the courage to allow even the hint of such discourse in their own country, lecturing a representative of the US on how to deal with their opposition, was very much beneath contempt [not his exact words, which I am sure were as eloquent as any ever spoken in American history]. He then ended the session abruptly, and made them crawl back after the Christmas bombing, begging for the same deal.

The names of any KIA's on the Vietnam War Memorial whose deaths occurred after this incident should be marked with an indicator that they were slain by a COMBINATION of the North Vietnamese Stalinist enemy and the efforts of the Marxist/Leninist anti-American left-who survive to this day, still fighting passionately against their hated enemy, the United States.

Kissinger had the guts, brains, and determination to defy the prevailing leftist "intellectual" fashion of the day, and deny the left their bloody American debacle. Such men are rare, and America is lucky to have them when they are needed.

So don't anyone BORE me with John Kerry, Bill Clinton, or Puff Daschle. Whomever does hasn't got a CLUE what America is REALLY all about.

Looking forward to the 2003 version of the Christmas bombing-BIG TIME-in March, in Iraq. Let's ROLL!!!...
