Well, I think what I said was a fair interpretation of what you suggested. You wrote:

That list does not include the option of going ahead anyhow, accepting the consequences. So will you amend your list to include that option? Wthout that option, my comment was, I think, fair. If you amend your list to inlcude that option, then my objection drops away. Or pretty much does, though you still think I SHOULD be ruled by the neighborhood POV, you just don't demand it.

But suppose the POV of the entire neighborhood is that I need to go to church on Sundays to listen to the message of peace and reconciliation. Should I feel free to disregard that POV? That, I think, is still a fair question?
