And the US has never had any ties with a bad regime or sold any weapons to a bad leader or cultivated commercial relations with a murderous regime or stood idly by while horrific abuses were committed, no....we must be angels, right? FWIW, the Washington Times is a right-wing loony bin funded by the Moonies that no one in Washington has ever taken seriously. In this case, their facts are correct. But the paper is run by nutcases.
