Did you see this? If NSM went out of biz perhaps the stock would double!

National Semiconductor (NSM:NYSE - news - commentary - research - analysis) will cut its workforce by 5% and sell its Information Appliance unit, the Santa Clara, Calif., chipmaker announced Thursday.

Investors liked the news and pushed National Semi shares up 87 cents, or 6.05%, to $15.25 in midday trading.
