But we are perceiving that the bad boy is also harming us, either immediately or in the near future. We may be right, we may be wrong. Perhaps this illustrates our failure to communicate on this topic. I am more fearful of the guy who's coming to install my new garbage disposal than I am of Saddam--and I plan to let that guy into my house, if the bozo ever shows up. Ain't no one shooting off rounds in the back yard. At the worst there's loud music in the middle of the night. And the neighbors are suggesting it's best to wear ear plugs and not provoke him into killing granny's cat--or shooting off rounds in the back yard. If we don't agree on the risk, we'll never be about to relate on the analogy.
