Thanks RtS. You can buy Saddam futures "an investor who buys 100 March contracts at $4 each wins $600 if Saddam is out by March 31. If Saddam is still in power in April, the investor loses his initial $400 investment."

The worst performing components of the index today are: LU -7.2%, ALA -5.4%, TLAB -6.8%, NT -3.5%, ADTN -2.9% and CIEN -2.7%. Also down substantially is AFCI -6.0%

10:19AM Photon Dynamics upgraded at Needham; pre-open (PHTN) 16.65 +1.40: Needham upgraded PHTN before the open to Buy from Hold to reflect their increased optimism that new mgmt will be able to reverse the recent deterioration in the co's financial performance and put it back on course for profitable growth. Target is $21.

9:21AM Tellabs cut to Hold at Kaufman (TLAB) 6.12: Kaufman downgrades to Hold from BUY and suspends their price target (previously $11), saying yesterday's FCC decision creates so much uncertainty in the business models of TLAB's major customers that the possibility of a return to normalized and/or rational rate of spending by the RBOCs has been delayed indefinitely.

9:11AM Agilent beats by $0.03; reducing workforce by 4,000 (A) 12.60: Reports Q1 (Jan) loss of $0.23 per share, $0.03 better than the Multex consensus and in-line with reduced guidance of ($0.22-$0.28) issued earlier this month. Revs fell 1% year/year to $1.41 bln vs the $1.39 bln consensus. Co says "visibility has never been worse, and we have no reason to believe that business will improve materially in the quarters immediately ahead."

8:45AM Texas Instruments to buy back 18 mln shares (TXN) 15.99: Announces that its board has approved the repurchase of up to 18 mln additional shares, which is intended to neutralize the potential dilutive effect of shares expected to be issued upon the exercise of stock options. Co has 1.73 bln shares outstanding.
