Unless we are about to embark on a path of anarchism, where everyone gets to do their own thing, then we have to recognize that we elected officials to do a job and then allow them to do it.

Mike, they are protests, it's not anarchy. Freedom of speech and all that. When the "dangling chad" election occurred initiating a war with Iraq was not on the agenda therfore to say "we elected officials to do a job and then allow them to do it" is somewhat hollow. In any event, you will be happy to learn that I am not an American but I do have a right to comment and a vested interest in the US actions. If you guys screw up big time, we and others are going to get the " mother of all pies" in our face, and we didn't even get to participate in the vote that you speak of.
