I am among 80% of the world population who thinks the solution to Iraq is not war.

This is a specious argument.

The vast majority of the world is uninformed on the issue.

Another sizable portion is informed, but has opposing interests (for example, France, which has decided Saddam is a better ally than the United States, in spite of the fact we have handled their national defense (and for that matter, chipped in billions for their war in Vietnam in 1950-53) for more than 50 years).

Finally, there are those who are somewhat informed but just don't have the gumption to recognize the reason we have to do this.

I'll stop short of trying to decide which category you're in. But the informed, thinking world is fully supportive of our actions.

Al Re...Two premises in your note that are...well, wrong. I am among 80% of the world population who thinks the solution to Iraq is not war.

So, But yes men are more numerous than leaders. I certainly wouldn't want one leading our country,

Secondly, the very fact that the NYT publishes stuff from folks like Safire, who is an avowed conservative, clearly disproves your disfunctional notion that the paper is a bastion of liberalism.

Nice try at changing the question. The question was, does the NYT usually print garbage.

What is proves (more than suggests) is that nations can evolve peacefully.

Surely you aren't trying to say Russia and China evolved peacefully. Does Statlin or Lenin sound familiar to you. How about N.Korea. Tinamen square. In addition, all of those interventions you abhor, were fought by either of those two against the US. If they wouldn't have supported revolution by terrorism, the US wouldn't have had to intervene.

Empty blather.....I suppose that answering my questions instead is a little harder

I did answer you question. But yes are followers who will say anything to justify doing nothing. You can't have But yes men in charge, because nothing gets done, and time is money on the job. Pick a way, any way, but get the job done, period. Certainly there are differing ways, some better than others, but the worst is to do nothing. That has no hope of being right, that is a money loser off the bat.
