DHB Industries Fires Back at NYC Councilman
Eric Gioia
Monday December 2, 3:13 pm ET

CARLE PLACE, N.Y., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DHB Industries Inc. (Amex: DHB -
News), the market leader in the rapidly growing body armor industry, today fired back at
New York City Councilman Eric Gioia, who alleged in a press conference yesterday that
body armor provided to the New York City Police Department by DHB subsidiary Point
Blank Body Armor Inc. is defective.

"Recent tests of our bullet resistant
vests by the New York City Police
Department did not show the
inadequate meeting of safety
standards, as Councilman Gioia
suggests," stated Sandra Hatfield,
Chief Operating Officer of DHB
Industries Inc., "Nor have any of our
vests been deemed unusable due to
manufacturing flaws. In short, our
vests are not faulty, and this is
nothing more than Union
propaganda and mis-information.
Our record stands on the hundreds
of lives saved since 1973 wearing
our body armor."

"A disgruntled striking employee,
Ubertino De La Cruz, is apparently motivated to create unfounded and unfavorable
stories that co-workers indicated are intellectually dishonest and purposely harmful to
the harmony of Plant Operations and Point Blank employees," continued Ms. Hatfield.
"He continues to defame the manufacturing, testing and inspection criteria of Point
Blank Body Armor. Only recently have we discovered that this striking employee
concealed a long and lengthy criminal record. He has been placed on administrative
leave pending further investigation. Public Officials should be wary of the testaments
provided by such unreliable individuals."

Ken,
I looked on DHB recently. Like the company but the labour problem is really eating into their profits inflating SG&A levels to unattractive heights. I concluded to set aside the stock for the time being but consider buying into it once the union problem was solved. Company and the union are really playing hardball here for the time being..

apart from this you are right. They are undervalued. Catalyst for me would be solution of the labour problem.
