CB,
You nailed it. Its the head in the sand phenomena. If we dont go after them they will leave us alone, although they consistenly go after folks who have left them alone. Many marchers were driven by this false belief. Converts to the palestinian cause often are too. If only those damn jews hadnt moved there? If only those damned americans didnt base there? Mike

"Hanging chad"

CB and Mike M,
Forget the hanging chad thing...I meant nothing by it....it is just a benchmark in my mind that references that particular election. I truly have no opinion on the election and outcome. I basically think of the election as a dead heat. A tough situation was sorted out as best it could. Good enough for me.

P.S. I think the "pie" he is worried about is something like what happened in Bali. There is a forlorn hope that if
only Al Qaeda's boundaries are not transgressed, there will be safety. Since the US insists on transgressing Al
Qaeda's boundaries, no one who sides with the US is safe.

You could not be more wrong and I realize the post is merely goading. My concern is igniting WW3 via Iraq ( along with the concern for death of innocents) and you fixate on Al Qaeda. You can't seem to differentiate from the many boogey men in the world. I believe you have merged all fears into one vague homogenous ghost and want to spray bullets indiscriminately everywhere.
