Should the Israelis (and other victim nations) seek to have Arafat indicted for War Crimes in Belgian courts??

They tried, but for some reason Belgium wasn't interested in the case.

I can think of any number of FAR GREATER perpetrators of horrendous War Crimes (such as Saddam Hussein) where the Belgians have done NOTHING.

Future historians are going to be scratching their heads, trying to figure out why only the Israelis could be guilty of war crimes. Even just sticking to the Lebanese war, the 1974 PLO massacre and the 1985 Phalangist massacre at Shatilla were just as bad, or very nearly, as the 1982 Phalangist massacre at Sabra & Shatilla. But there were no Israelis nearby in 1974 or 1985 so you never hear of it.

As for the 1982 massacre, what always got me was that no one even bothered to indict Elie Hobeika for the massacre, though it was his troops that committed it. Hobeika might as well have been Arik Sharon's horse for all anyone ever held him responsible.

And why have we not seen the Belgians involved in indicting Arafat

Perhaps because none of the victims' relatives tried to sue him in the said court.

The case against Sharon is particularly strong, because he has ALREADY BEEN FOUND RESPONSIBLE in an Israeli court for the said atrocities and forced to resign.

What is your point anyway? That Sharon should not be tried because Arafat is not being tried?
