Did Arafat's alleged victims try to sue him in the said Belgian court? Did the court refuse? What happened?
It's not whether they did, but whether they should Zonder...

If you think they should, then you should tell them that. It is not the fault of the said court in question if nobody complains.

(Not saying this is the case, just asking if there were any legal complaints on Arafat)

What right does Belgium have in engaging in selective prosecution??

Have you read the article I posted or not?

Hawk - Such courts do NOT choose the people they will pursue. They evaluate the cases brought before them.

As it stands, it makes the Belgium court system come off as being run by a bunch of anti-semitic jurists.

OH PLEASE! Israel says Sharon was responsible. He was made to resign on that, for crying out loud. Hundreds of people were massacred. And Israel did not pursue Sharon itself.

What did you expect??? Of course the victims and their relatives will seek justice elsewhere. Just like Pinochet was indicted by Spain in 1998 for the crimes and killings during his rule in Chile. Now what do you have to say against the Spanish judges? That they were, uh, anti-Chilean??? They were horribly biased??? What?

So all I'm asking is that if Belgium is going to press the case against Sharon, they need to expend JUST as much effort, in the interest of fairness, against Arafat and the crimes he's responsible for.

Hawk - You are exasperating :-)

In one sentence: That is not what courts do.
