Iraqi VP Offers 'Dialogue' With U.S.
"[I wonder how the Bushies will respond to this?...It could interfere with the intense rush to war -- Yet, it might provide a way for Bush to avoid a costly pre-emptive war against Iraq that could end his political career.]"

How would you react to a cynical deal between US and Iraq that averts war. You would be the first one screaming about bush cynicism. Scott, you dont know what the hell you want. I am amazed that you trust the iraqi VP more than your own president. Mike

Hitler tried to pull that one many times, to no avail. So when he learned, deep in his bunker that Roosevelt had died, he told all his top aides that this was the miracle they were waiting for.

It just shows how desperate Saddam's regime is for any exit strategy.
There is one, through Iran. Not Syria, because your guys will take him out in the flatlands and see the joke if Assad complains to the UN...

I am more certain than ever that a war will be avoided.
If, eventually, all groups, Nato, UN, Usa agree that Saddam is in non-compliance and must be disarmed then:

Saddam has the entire world against him.
He loses.
And this is all credited to the proactive genius of George W. Bush.

Everybody will agree to this solution.

Then the deals will really be cut, economies grow,
A real peace dividend.
