you were a bit tooooo presumptious...<g> You're right in that the source of my immediate stress is those poor luckless people...but as per the systems theory we're all part of the same system........and whatever is harmful for them, for ecosystem will always be harmful for us...the harm may take a decade or less or more to manifest itself, but eventually my kids will pay for the mess we're creating now... My major was in strategic planning, as were most of my jobs.....and yet, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this is a no win game being played......with no long-term planning involved here... and besides, i think you guys see humor in these scares because most Americans have never lived in the shadow of terrorism....and i'm wishing and hoping they never will have to. But in the rest of the world, the scares are very real, part of everyday lives...

elpolvo: I took action this evening and signed up to support an organization called Peace Action... peace-action.org They are a grass roots organization that is signing up thousands of new members each month (they have well over 100,000 across the country) and are a lobbying organization in Washington that works for peace and disarmament around the world...Obviously, they are VERY BUSY now trying to prevent a war with Iraq...A nice young volunteer came to my door earlier this evening and I invited him in and engaged him in a deep discussion -- they take your number and email and mobilize members to help with contacting the media and recruiting for rallies...They lobby Congress and at times take out ads in publications like The New York Times. I believe in what they are working towards... peace-action.org I'm a new member and am proud of what they are trying to do. regards, -s2@wecanALLmakeadifference.com
