First off 20Billion of that 26 Billion is loan guarantees meaning they can borrow money at favorable US Govt interest rates. So long as they pay it back its no skin off American Taxpayers backs. Seconly, Turkey HAS suffered financially over the problem with Saddam. I think it only fair we give them a hand, they have been a loyal ally even back to the Korean War. My brothers unit was on the line next to a Turkish unit, he always told me they were FEROCIOUS fighters.
