Only 45% of Americans in last poll say they will vote for Bush. And that can slide quickly. That is not a majority. Bush also lost the popular vote and (minus Jeb's voter roll cheating) the election. People can like a President's personality (and Bush is slick and charming) but hate his policies, results and make a rational decision. Bush's economy is the worst we've seen and experts are saying there's no light at the end of the tunnel. John Kerry is also very likeable once people get to know him and he can fix these problems we have. Bush's father had even higher ratings at this time in his presidency. CLinton left office with 60% approvals. Clinton was 60% even during the Monica Lewinsky period. Those numbers mean nothing for 2004. However, a majority of the media voices now support Bush. The GOP does have a majority there. But that can also change.
