Veterans understand 1972's Vietnam War problems more than anyone. They were the cannon fodder and the ones getting blown apart by a proven failure of foreign policy. Until he came home Kerry fought bravely, shed blood took lives and saved lives. He more than anyone had the right to protest. Against those politicians who promised to end the war and didn't, and against those who would send more boys into that jungle meat-grinder without an exit plan or a victory plan. Shame on your for criticizing a war hero like Kerry. You say you were a veteran. Where are your Purple Hearts? Where is your Silver Star? I didn't think so. Veterans overwhelmingly support Kerry even in conservative places lime South Carolina. Bush meanwhile went AWOL and deserted his unit. Cheney draft-dodged. So did DeLay, Liambaugh on down the line, al the ones criticizing real war heros were chickenhawks.
