GST do you want a General for Sec of Defense? If so which one? You can't necessarily turn a doctor into an effective administrator, as many of the policy failures, flagrant ignoring of internal rules, and bankruptcies at so many of our doctor-led hospitals will attest. Given your comments i'd think you'd want a civilian to oversee the Defense Department. I think it'd be a disaster to have a General as the Sec of Defense. It would also be a threat to democracy.
