I am of the opinion that the market is going to go where it is going to go, regardless of news. News has been a horrible way to predict which way the market is going for a while. The October rally was on the back of some truly horrible economic news. The January rally was on neutral news. The subsequent drop was on relatively good news. The February rally started on decent news and extended on increasingly negative news. I believe that the market would have gone down to the lows yesterday with the fire or without. The market would have found some other bit of news to blame it on and it may have taken a day longer to get there, but we were going there and we were destined to bounce back.

How's that for being a fatalist
