Ken,
I am trying to temper my usually aggressive nature so I can participate on this thread. Trying to look at it from your(TM) perspective once in awhile is helpful. There is a "line in the sand" nature to many posts on both sides. I think many of my posts could be classified this way. That annoys me because there alot of smart folks on this thread who should probably be looking for common ground and consenus rather than overstating their respective cases. I have no choice in my personal life to be kind to leftys--some in my immediate family. So if we have a community here of sorts the same kindness should be shown here too.
There is a war coming. We will need each other. Those now against the war can continue to be skeptics but also be patriotic. Those for the war should make it easier for opponents to be both skeptical and patriotic.
Vietnam syndrome happens only if leaders become wedded to policies that dont work. Lets all hope that doesnt happen. mike
