Mr. Faber writes very clearly...

China and Gold is the way to be bias... imo

Mr. Bernanke ought to change his name to

BernanKaput... -g

The US government has a technology, called a printing press that allows it to produce as many US dollars as it wishes at essentially no cost.

~ Ben S. Bernanke [aka BernanKaput]

It is so nice to know bureaucrats are sooooo eloquent and responsible; with bureaucrats like these, who needs Saddam Husseins -gggg

Regarding the consumer, my wife and I just did some shopping today. Walked into a Payless Shoe store for a pair of shoes, and we were bombarded by the salespeople with the fact that they had a "buy 1 get something of lesser value for 1/2 off" sale. When we left without buying anything in addition to the shoes (just didn't want or need anything else) the sales people looked distressed. We got out of the store for less than $15.

Elsewhere in the same mall we saw a small gift store with a "Going out of Business" sign. Then we went into Macy's and used our 15% off coupon on a purchase of only $20. There just wasn't much that we were interested in buying.

re Faber.
Coincidentially, Puplava did an interview with him just the other day.
You can listen to it on the FSO site.
It's about an hour long
But well worth the time.
netcastdaily.com
(click on "Faber" either mp3 or real audio)

P.S> Puplava did an interview with him just a few months ago as well.
If you hunt around the FSO pages I'm sure you'll find a transcript to go along with the audio.
A transcript of the most recent interview should be online in a week or two.

EDIT:
Here is the transcript of the earlier interview dated Nov 2nd
financialsense.com
The audio of the 11/2 interview is on this page if interested
financialsense.com

You might find some other worth while interviews in the archives too.
The one just a few weeks ago with Prechter is good as well
