Why is Bush rushing the war? He will never admit his true reasons, but let's look at what they might be. 1) He was getting unpopular last summer and needed the war to deflect domestic issue failures to dominate media coverage, stop any fair debate and win in November for the GOP, to take the Senate away and make sure the Democrats have no subpoena powers to investigate the White House. Half of Reagan's cabinet was indicted. Bushies wanted to keep that from happening, especially looking into the phony energy crisis. They also wanted a war so they could call any democrat who resisted a wimp and a traitor, even war heros like Max Cleland. 2) The plan to quickly move to start taking out major oil countries which block the super dream pipeline from Turkey all the way to Afghanistan thereby creating a new American-dominated OPEC and keep us dependent on oil for another 50 years. Also to enrich the people that put Bush in power, the energy business. 3) To take out Iraq first, the easiest target, then have time to start another war against Iran before the 2004 elections, and to then also dominate the media and keep someone like John Kerry from being able to debate and get public attention on domestic failures. This my friends is the imperial petroleum-based military-minded administation. Iraq has little to do with terrorism and everything to do with fossil fuels.
