If the franco german alliance hadn't occurred there would have more not less of a chance for saddam to come to his senses, assuming he has senses. The left gave him hope, not by design, but hope nevertheless. There should be a mandatory class given by Ken (pollack or Fault Line) in Foreign Policy for all americans and french and germans too. Some of this point counterpoint going on with bush opponents is down right silly. I couldn't agree more.
