Caught up on scanning posts, back to programming. I've known people that don't like coding, but for me, it's not only fun, it's addictive. Must be endorphins.

Re. our discussion some time ago wrt intelligent machines -

I notice in my latest PC Mag that CalTech has announced a Turing Tournament with prizes of $10,000. AI still has a way to go, but Moore's law and enough time are hard to beat.

<<...Here's me on my 470 last summer.

It isn't as easy I thought it would be to sail by myself.

Got any tips on how to sail it with just one person?
I suppose I could rig the lines up so they all end closer
to where I sit...>>

Clapper: very kewl pics...thnx for sharing them...My parents met at The University of Michigan a few years before I came into this world <G>...Its neat that you have one of their former racing boats...When I raced 470s (a number of years ago) I always sailed with a crew...If I was out alone, I sailed a laser. Yet, I think you will have to experiment some more with your boat to find the right arrangement for singlehanding it.

I grew up sailing in the summers on Lake Michigan -- we used to sail everything from optimist prams, to lasers, to FJs, to windsurfers, to big boats (for many years my father had a Tartan 30 called AMAZIN' BLUE that we raced with some college kids...I was the youngest crew member)...Unfortunately, right now I don't sail nearly as much as I used to. It's a great way to recharge...;-)
