Where's the relevance? Canada had a similar history. You're having trouble joining the dots.

David.

Too bad you failed to see the connection.

My discussion was in the American context with due regard to certain information found in the book, "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee."

I omitted discussing past Canadians' treatment of Canada's Indians in order not to lengthen my post unnecessarily and besides I have assumed you already knew that story.

It seems to me you are still reluctant to accept the truth that Americans are, after all, very trigger-happy folks!!!
Maybe I ought to have provided more details. But, knowing you to be a PhD, I decided to cut short my discussion in order not to appear patronizing. <G>

Although Canada has had a similar history with regard to treatment of the native folks, it appears to me the Indians fared far better in Canada. By the way, do not forget that Canada had been comparatively dovish.
