You certainly have great points there. Bush wants people to boycott French products, that smdw forgot about reciprocity and that that sword cuts both ways. French wine has been eclipsed by CA and now OR anyway. I'm certain Bush's mucky muck rich friends won't stop bathing in champagne and french perfumes or stop wearing haute couture clothes. The houses of Chanel and Givenchy have no worries. The masses can't afford their stuff and the elite continue in their elitist ways...

You make good points, but the fact remains that the US peace movement has left itself very vulnerable by placing such hopes on the UN. Polls show that many who oppose unilateral US action would support an attack if sanctioned by the UN.

Not long ago a lot of people were counting on Powell to stop the war drive. How wrong they were!
