Oh oh, BDBBR has made it to #1 on hot stock talk. Could it be because I have another 8-12 inches of white shit on the ground with more to come?

I don't have any investments in the area, but I recall that alternative energy was a hot area the last time we had an energy boom. This time, I think the market will be much more selective. The cost of wind is competitive with gas at $4-$4.5, so this market can grow with or without subsidies. Unfortunately, I haven't found a good investment vehicle for this. I'm looking for one. awea.org Solar is also growing abour 20-30%/year, and the one company I follow there is APWR. All of these companies have been in long downtrends, which is not surprising, seeing how their runs were in the waning days of the mania.
