As I read them I agree with your points. Your antenna is probably better than mine. But I do agree that I see more challenges and anti-semetic things unfolding. Be assured that when it finally reaches the radar screen of people like me we will be just as vigorous and unrelenting as we are in other areas. ""Hey, they might be Nazis, but they have a point." I'm hearing this sort of rhetoric quite a bit lately, and almost all of it is coming from the far left. Slowly but surely, the "revisionists" are gaining in respectability, mainly thanks to people like Mr. Wilson"" One thing stands out. You characterizing the left in a very dogmatic way. When I read the paragraph above I thought the the guy was an idiot. My opinion of the left is that anti-semites would not be tolerated. But you are probably correct since you follow this more closely and this BOZO is from the far left. I thought the anti-Semitism was most common in the militia type and skin heads? This left/right thing is a waste of time. I am not left. You know I have voted for Republicans in the past. I guess if there is anything I deplore it is the misuse of power. I think we all have to believe in hope for all of us. And if I had a wish it would be that you could be relieved of the ugliness of anti- semitism. Peace, Rascal And my reply to him: Thanks, Rascal. It's hard sometimes to make one's meaning clear, esp. using the shorthand one does for posts. WRT characterizing "the left in a dogmatic way", note that Damian is talking about the "far left" - who are led by not very reformed Marxists now pushing what Fonte calls "transnational progressivism". It's hard to characterize more accurately since both left and right have internally fractured along new lines since 9/11. The right has fractured the most clearly, separating the old-style isolationists like Pat Buchanan from the suddenly interventionalist, almost Wilsonian, neocons. The left is less clear - what the far-left wants is clear, but I'm not sure what the position of the liberal left is these days. Judging from the very mixed messages coming from the Democratic candidates, neither are they. You're right, anti-Semitism used to be the province of the far-right skinheads and militia types. But haven't you noticed that the far-left and far-right seem to be in bed together these days regarding the War on Terror? The most radical antiwar protesters and Pat Buchanan seem to be saying almost the same stuff.
