LTCM and blownup Ashanti (plus Cambior) workout continues...what's it been 5-6 years now?

>>Ashanti Goldfields is planning a rights issue to raise approximately US$80M in order further to stabilise its balance sheet, while Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp is placing US$37.2M of 9.0% Senior Convertible Notes. These funds will be used to retire the majority of the company's 6.375% convertible debentures and will provide working capital for general corporate purposes.<<

Commentary...
in this day of wild guesses as to when the "Gata Splatta" bunch get their fervent desire of seeing massive hedgebook blowups, I continue to think it useful to remind folks on this thread (you happened to be an admired one) of the "WORK OUT" offered to the previous hedger blow-ups mentioned above. Here it is 6-ish years later
and the workout is still "working out" and now looks like "rights issuance"

Bet those 9% Notes look interesting to folks getting thrashed for the 3rd year in a row in the Dow....
