Personally i think the settlers are crazy or fanatical. I cant imagine putting my family at risk the way they put their families. So I assume most believe in Greater Israel concept and that will make dismantling settlements gut wrenching to say the least. mike

Well it wasn't 'at risk' when they moved there, generally. There are three classes of settlements. The big, settled towns just over the Green Line hold Israelis no different from other Israelis. This includes the new neighborhoods of Jerusalem like Gilo.

Border settlements were set up for security warnings, like those in the Jordan Valley.

The smaller settlements sprinkled throughout the West Bank tend to hold the religious Zionists; those are the true believers. They are terribly attached to the Biblical lands of Judea and Samaria and believe they have the original deed in the Torah. They are not going to be easy to shift.

I agree. It always surprised me that the bulk of the Israeli population allowed this small and far right element of their society to exaccerbate a bad situation.

I hope Nadine responds to this. (yea ..right <g>)
