From the beginning of his function as a Sat-Guru, Adi Da has not been a public figure. He has never given even a talk to a public audience. The work that he does with people personally is with his devotees. If George Bush invited him to the White House it is about 99% certain he would decline the invitation. If George Bush wanted to come to see him (doubtful), it is by no means certain that he would be received. You will probably interpret this as vanity or something of the kind. It is nothing like that. It is just that the work Adi Da does is mainly in seclusion, and secondarily with his devotees. In April in Los Angeles there will be the first public showing of Adi Da's photography and art. Take it from me, it does NOT resemble anything that has preceded it in art or photography. Normally the artist is on hand to schmooze the customers. Not so in this case. A simple story (among hundreds) told by many people who were around at the time was when Adi Da's daughters were young and they were at a beach. A large fly was noisily buzzing around them in an annoying way. It sat down on Adi Da and he swatted it hard and killed it. One of his daughters said something like "why did you have to kill it?" So he picked it up off the ground, put it in his hand, blew on it for about 5 seconds and it immediately revived and flew away, FAST. That's not a public "trick". Not verifiable except by the comments of the persons there. One example of hundreds recorded. So find the charity. Make the donation! Namaste! Jim
